Is it required to submit a language proficiency exam?

International students are not required to provide proof of Portuguese language proficiency. However, they must confirm during the application process that they are aware that the courses will be taught in Portuguese.

For courses taught in English: TOEFL iBT 70, IELTS 5.5, or a letter from the home institution certifying English language proficiency at the B1 level or higher

I am concerned about not speaking Portuguese

We understand that not being fluent in Portuguese may be a concern for international students. Therefore, Unaerp provides support through institutional initiatives that encourage the use of English and Spanish as academic support languages.

In some courses, although classes are taught in Portuguese but students may communicate with professors in English or Spanish to clarify questions during class. In certain cases, and at the professor’s discretion, assignments, presentations, and assessments may also be completed in these languages.

However, students are encouraged to learn Portuguese in order to enhance their academic experience, improve integration into university life, and fully engage with Brazilian culture.

Are there courses taught in other languages?

Yes, Unaerp offers courses taught in foreign languages. For more information about the available course options, please click here.

Does Unaerp provide housing?

Can I apply for an internship at Unaerp?

What type of visa do I need to study in Brazil?

All international students who will study in Brazil for more than 90 days must obtain a student visa, in accordance with Brazilian immigration regulations. For students staying for less than 90 days, visa requirements vary depending on the student’s nationality.

To apply for a student visa or obtain additional information, students will receive a Letter of Acceptance from UNAERP and should contact the nearest Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in their country for guidance on the visa application process.

Important: obtaining a student visa is the sole responsibility of the international student. Unaerp is not responsible for any delays in the visa application, processing, or issuance. Upon receiving the Letter of Acceptance, students are strongly advised to begin the visa application process as early as possible to ensure that the visa is issued before the start of the academic semester.
